Home and housewares are getting prime placement in a new Amazon brick and mortar location opening in New York City. Dubbed Amazon 4-star, the physical store will sell merchandise that has been rated four stars and above, is a top seller, or is new and trending on Amazon.com.
The store is located in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood on Spring Street between Crosby and Lafayette Streets.
Amazon 4-star is built around what customers are buying and what they’re loving, according to the company. In addition to the four star ratings and top sellers, the store will offer local features like “Trending Around NYC” and “Top Selling Around NYC” that make it fun and easy for customers to shop, the company added.
In Amazon 4-star, customers can also test-drive Amazon devices along with smart home accessories that work with Alexa. Consumers will also be able to discover products from some of the most popular categories on Amazon.com including kitchen, home, toys, games, devices, consumer electronics, books, and more.
In the Home and Kitchen section, customers can shop small appliances along with “Cooks’ Tools,” “Bar and Party Supplies,” and “Quirky Kitchen Gifts.”
The average rating of all the products in the Amazon 4-star store is 4.4 stars, and collectively, the products in store have earned more than 1.8 million five-star customer reviews, noted Amazon.
Throughout the store there are also features like “Most-Wished-For,” a collection of products that are most added to Amazon.com Wish Lists,“Trending Around NYC,” hot products that NYC-area customers are buying on Amazon.com, “Frequently Bought Together,” and “Amazon Exclusives.” Products will also feature customer review cards with quotes from actual customer reviews.
Every product in the store has a digital price tag, which includes the average star rating and total number of customer reviews the product has received as well as the Amazon Prime price and list price and Prime member savings. For example, a Lodge 3.5-inch cast iron mini skillet is listed with 4.4 stars and totals more than 10,900 customer reviews, which 76% of reviewers rated five stars.
