Three “Best of the Best” and 13 “Best in Category” winners were announced today at the 2010 Housewares Design Awards gala here.
The Collapsible Salad Spinner from Progressive International Corp. won the “Best of the Best – Gold” Award, to go with “Best in Category” in Kitchenware & Barware.
The “Best of the Best – Silver” Award went to the Chicago Metallic Lasagna Trio from Focus Products Group LLC. (also “Best in Category” in Cookware & Bakeware).
Nellie’s PVC-Free Dryerballs from Batten Industries won the “Best of the Best – Bronze” Award and “Best in Category” in Home Organization, Laundry and Non-Electric cleaning.
An independent judging panel selected the winning products based on superior design, appearance, function, originality and market appeal.

The winners of the 2010 “Green House” Design Award for eco-friendly innovation were — Batten Industries’ Nellie’s PVC-Free Dryerballs, Electrolux UltraSilencer Green and NextLife RainStore Rainwater Collection System — were also displayed and honored at the event.
The Housewares Design Awards are presented by HomeWorld Business, with educational support from the International Housewares Association and sponsorship by DuPont Teflon Housewares and the New York International Gift Fair.
Products judged were introduced to the United States retail market between October 1, 2008 and September 30, 2009. No prototypes were allowed.
