The latest version of IdeaVillage’s DRTV-driven Snackeez drink-and-snack cup is licensed to feature Shopkins, the collectable miniature shopping-themed characters that have become a top-selling toy sensation.
Shopkins, created by Australia’s Moose Toys, encompass a widening array of miniature characters representing items found along supermarket aisles— from sweet treats to produce to toiletries. The Shopkins collection has expanded to include fashion accessories.
This fall, IdeaVillage is releasing Snackeez Jr. cups (8-ounce drink/4-ounce snack) in three Shopkins designs, each retailing for $9.99.
Additional Shopkins designs for Snackeez are planned, according to Jane Gilmartin, IdeaVillage’s evp/chief merchandising officer. “This is the hottest toy license in the country,” Gilmartin said of Shopkins. “It’s a true phenomenon, and it’s an exciting addition to the Snackeez program.”
