The International Housewares Association is changing the name of its annual Chicago event from the International Home + Housewares Show to The Inspired Home Show as part of an effort to address the changing reality and lifestyle captivation of today’s marketplace, IHA officials said.
Although it will remain a trade-only event, The Inspired Home Show will include influencer and other initiatives to more effectively reach out to consumers. According to the IHA, the show will better align with the evolution of the consumer, who, these days, is buying based on lifestyle aspirations as much or more than on the basis of functional home design.
The show will remain at McCormick Place in Chicago and retain its five-expos-in-one format with dine + decor located in the South Hall, clean + contain, Discover Design and International Sourcing located in the North Hall, and wired + well located in Lakeside Center.
However, as The Inspired Home Show, it will incorporate additional elements, such as new logos, a fresh brand color scheme and, in 2020, an IHA-sponsored influencer conference the day before the main event as part of the expanding consumer outreach efforts that the organization has undertaken particularly since the launch of The Inspired Home Journalat last year’s Housewares Show.
In addition, IHA will launch the theinspiredhomeshow.com website as a new communication vehicle for the updated event and to support the brand. IHA will maintain its housewares.org website for a time as a reference vehicle and archive for events through the current Home + Housewares Show.
