IHA’s Discover Design Nearly Sold Out

Discover Design, a destination for buyers seeking unique products from high-design and innovative companies, according to the IHA, is nearly sold-out for the 2014 International Home + Housewares Show, according to the International Housewares Association. Discover Design is a juried category located in the Dine + Design Expo in the South Building.

Among the 100+ exhibitors in the Discover Design showcase, newcomers include Ary Trays, David Rasmussen, Ekobo Ecology, Finell, Make International, Rosendahl Timepieces, R.F. Yamakawa, Scandinavian Child and Winestor. Well-known returning suppliers for 2014 are Alessi, Blomus, Charles Viancin, Govino, Joseph Joseph, Koziol, Nambe, Present Time, Robert Welch, Room Copenhagen and Sagaform.

Design Debut, the Show’s design incubator program located within Discover Design, expands this year with 10 new-to-the-Show exhibitors. Participating this year are Andie Olive, Chisel & Mouse, Exclusivas Saigo, Johnny Hermann, Maia Ming Designs, Manual, Materious, Nicole Porter, Port Living and S2BH.

Discover Design will be planning several other events during the show as well, including the Discover Design Gallery which will showcase products competing for a Global Innovation Award (gia) which Discover Design companies are eligible to compete for. The gallery is open to registered buyers and media. An invitation-only Discover Design Specialty Retailer & Media Reception will be held on Saturday in the Gallery where buyers and media can mingle with the exhibitors and their designers. Additionally, there will be a Discover Design Lounge with a Wine Bar and cafe.
