The 15th anniversary Summer Las Vegas Market, rescheduled to run August 30 to September 3, will feature the grand opening of The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas, a 315,000-square-foot exposition facility that will house the market’s gift and home temporaries, in addition to more than 4,300 furniture, home décor and gift resources in 5.4 million square feet.
The Expo will debut with a tradeshow layout designed to enable social distancing and traffic control, IMC stated. The market in general will incorporate enhanced safety protocols in line with COVID-19 recovery.
For the furniture trade, the market will showcase thousands of lines on 31 showroom floors. Within gift, it will present thousands of resources on seven floors in Building C and in the Expo. For home décor, the market features hundreds of resources on 13 showroom floors in Buildings A, B and C, and in The Expo, IMC noted.
Consistent with buyer sentiment, IMC will present market programming and trend features through digital market channels before and after the event. Scheduled pre-market educational webinar topics include Las Vegas Market’s proprietary First Look and Ahead of the Curve trend programming, the first-time presentation of a Virtual Showhouse and programs addressing business practices during and after COVID-19, as well as current market trends, color forecasting and more. Highlights also include daily showroom and temporary exhibitor videos, an Instagram Takeover with industry influencers and daily webinars. IMC indicated that it would announce the full schedule of virtual programming soon.
The market also will feature the first summer presentation of IMC’s Market Snapshot, which showcases product intros and bestsellers in addition to notable product lines and exhibitors coast to coast. Buyers can follow along on the Las Vegas Market social media pages @LasVegasMarket on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and at www.lasvegasmarket.com/marketsnapshot.
With epidemiologist consultation, IMC is introducing new Together Safely protocols for the summer market including the required use of personal protective equipment, temporal monitoring, social distancing, occupancy control, hand sanitizing/cleansing and significantly enhanced housekeeping. IMC is encouraging attendees to prepare for the market by familiarizing themselves with the protocols at www.TogetherSafely.com. As part of its safety protocols, IMC will institute new registration requirements this summer. Elements include contactless badging, phased access and capacity limitations. Pre-registration for summer market, which is mandatory, is available at the web address. Hotel booking through the Las Vegas Market’s official housing partner, Connections Housing, is open at https://www.lasvegasmarket.com/plan/book-travel/hotels.
Buyers and designers can access the Exhibitor Directory on the Las Vegas Market website and app for market planning and at-market navigation. As an added benefit, ShopZio, a B2B e-commerce platform powered by the IMC Digital Innovations division, IMC_di, will integrate with all company market websites allowing vendors to reach new buyers, capture leads and grow sales. It also will enable retailers and designers to source and shop.
