With the holiday season approaching, J.C. Penney is aiming to increase its staff for seasonal shopping, with plans to hire approximately 37,000 seasonal associates for a variety of positions in stores, e-commerce facilities and customer care centers.
To fill the seasonal positions available in approximately 850 stores, the company is hosting its second annual National Hiring Day on October 15 from 2 to 8 p.m. local time.
National Hiring Day events will take place in all stores across the country. The retailer will be seeking associates for a variety of customer service and support positions, including cashiers, replenishment specialists, Sephora inside J.C. Penney beauty consultants and more. Management will be holding in-person interviews and making employment offers to candidates on-the-spot. All skill levels are welcome, and candidates are encouraged to apply online or in-store at one of its applicant kiosks prior to attending the event.
