Walmart’s Jet.com has named grocery industry veteran Simon Belsham its new president. He succeeds Liza Landsman, who left the company in March.
According to a Reuters report, Belsham will oversee all operations at Jet.com and join Walmart’s U.S. e-commerce leadership team. The report cited information from an internal Walmart e-mail sent by Marc Lore, president of Walmart’s e-commerce operations, to Jet.com employees.
According to Reuters, Lore in the e-mail said that Belsham brings experience in scaling grocery delivery along with a background in converging technology and retail. Belshan was with U.K. grocery Tesco for seven years and is credited with building its online grocery operation in Great Britain and other markets in Europe and Asia.
Most recently, Belsham was CEO at Notonthehighstreet.com. He will be based at Jet.com’s New Jersey headquarters and report to Lore.
