Kaufmann Mercantile, an online store, has launched a private label collection called Kaufmann. The collection features a range of handmade furniture and homewares, including made-to-order handmade solid wood furniture, porcelain tableware, soy and beeswax candles and classic bags.
“From the very beginning, Kaufmann Mercantile has worked closely with makers and manufacturers from around the world, sharing a deep appreciation for products made with honest, lasting materials and grounded in a sense of place.” said Sebastian Kaufmann, CEO and founder of Kaufmann Mercantile. “Our new endeavor celebrates the simple yet focused pursuit of distilling a piece to its most essential.”
Made in New York, the collection of furniture includes a bench, dining table, kitchen island and ladder chairs. The collection is available in black walnut or white oak, and hand-finished with mineral oil and beeswax, the company said. The gathering bench has a suggested retail price of $1,275.
Porcelain tableware is made in Oregon and includes dinner plates, salad plates, serving bowls, cereal bowls, mugs and a butter dish. The line comes in a natural gloss, two custom matte glazes, in cream and almond. A cereal bowl has a suggested retail price of $39.
The candle collection is also made in New York and are hand-poured into a glass vessel. The leather and canvas carry collection are made in California and features brass hardware in modern, structured shapes, the company noted. Candles have a suggested retail price of $49 and a tote bag is available for $295.
