Kaz, a division of Helen of Troy, has introduced the Vicks SmartTemp wireless smartphone thermometer, which comes with a free Vicks SmartTemp app that is available for Android or Apple devices.
Together, the thermometer and app are designed to enable consumers to track multiple temperatures at once, such as for more than one child.
“We understand the challenges parents face trying to accurately remember their children’s fever histories,” said Lara Peterson, vp/health care at Kaz USA, Inc. “We’ve combined the flexible features we know mom loves from our digital sticks with the convenience of wireless automated temperature history tracking via our free companion app.”
Individualized profiles can be created for each family member to store their detailed temperature history on the app. The temperature readings are automatically populated from the thermometer via a wireless Bluetooth connection, while symptoms, medications, and other notes can be added for sharing updates with a physician. The thermometer’s history can be stored and recalled with the companion app.
The compact, portable digital stick thermometer has a flexible tip for comfortable oral, under arm or rectal readings in approximately eight seconds, the company noted. The Vicks SmartTemp thermometer has an SRP of $24.99 and is currently launching at pharmacy and baby retailers.
