Third quarter net sales in the Coffee Systems segment at Keurig Dr. Pepper increased 1.1% as growth in volume/mix partially offset lower net price realization, according to the company.
Total Coffee Systems sales for the quarter ended September 30 were $1.07 billion, up from sales of $1.05 billion in the comparable quarter the prior year.
The volume/mix increase reflected strong pod value growth of 6.1% and brewer volume growth of 8%. Operating income for coffee systems declined 7.2% to $310 million in the third quarter of 2019, compared to $334 million in the year-ago period.
Company-wide, net sales were $2.87 billion in the third quarter, up 0.5% year-over-year. Adjusted diluted earnings per share increased 6.7% to $0.32 in the third quarter, compared to adjusted pro forma diluted EPS of $0.30 in the year-ago period.
