Kroger Makes Executive Changes As Chief Merchant Retires

Kroger said that Joe Grieshaber, svp/chief merchant, is retiring after more than 37 years of service. The retailer is promoting Stuart Aitken, who will assume the role.

Aitken currently is svp/alternative business, serving as CEO of Kroger data analytics subsidiary 84.51˚ and functions as head of marketing. In the move, he will take on the role of chief merchant and marketing officer, overseeing sales, pricing, planning, promotions, execution, analytics, e-commerce and digital merchandising, and Our Brands.

Yael Cosset, svp/chief information officer, will assume responsibility for alternative business and 84.51. He will continue to lead Kroger technology and digital.
