Kyocera has introduced the Innovation Series ceramic cutlery line. The company said it features Z212, a new black advanced ceramic material optimized for cutlery. This new material is said to keep knives sharp up to 10 times longer than conventional steel blades.
Other features include an ergonomically designed soft textured handle that fits comfortably in the hand and provides a controlled grip for safe handling. The knife is also coupled with an upper angled handle to blade interface which allows for easier cutting on a cutting board.
Kyocera suggested that the Innovation Series of knives are ideal for cutting boneless meats, boneless fish, fruits and vegetables. The knives won’t brown foods or transfer metallic taste and they are rust-proof and germ resistant, according to the company.
The Innovation Series of knives includes a 4.5-inch utility knife, 5-inch slicing knife, 5.5-inch Santoku knife, 6-inch Santoku knife and a 7-inch Chef’s knife. The series has a suggested retail price range of $49.95 to $89.95 depending on size and are available for immediate shipment.
