The L.A. Mart has joined forces with its showrooms and the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank to sponsor a “Sharing It” Day event and food drive today, November 10, as part of an ongoing commitment to support the local community, according to the Mart.
“The tough economic conditions and increasing cost of living has required many families to rely hunger relief sites for the first times, ” said Mark Furlet, vp and general manager, L.A. Mart.
From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the public is invited to make canned and packaged food donations at L.A. Mart. Also, honored guests, city politicians and VIP dignitaries will gather at the L.A. Mart to present donations to Michael Flood, president and CEO, Los Angeles Foodbank. Donations given to the Foodbank will be distributed to nearly 900 charitable agencies including abused and abandoned children’s homes, battered women’s shelters, senior centers, local food pantries, soup kitchens, and AIDS hospices.
