Lamps Plus has entered into a partnership with A Sense of Home, a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization that creates first-ever homes for former foster youth who “age out” of the foster care system having never been adopted.
The retailer will donate new lighting and home furnishings to create homes for people leaving the foster care system.
The companies will showcase their partnership during the seventh annual WestEdge Design Fair, October 24 to 27, at the Barker Hangar at Santa Monica Airport. A vignette of exclusive designs curated by Lamps Plus brand ambassador and interior designer Lori Dennis will benefit the charity. In addition, Lamps Plus and Lori Dennis are working with the charity in a Designer Challenge, helping set up a new Los Angeles-area home for a family in need.
“A Sense of Home has created a remarkable program in Los Angeles for helping transitioning youth,” said Dennis Swanson, Lamps Plus founder and CEO. “Lamps Plus is a family-owned private company, so the A Sense of Home mission hits home for us, and we are honored to be a part of their growing program. It’s an exciting opportunity to help expand it to more regions and to broaden our efforts to serve more at-risk individuals in the coming years.”
