The January 27 to 31, 2019, Winter Las Vegas Market will offer a range of educational and other industry-relevant programming, including the 14th annual Las Vegas Market Design Icon Award, the 2019 Housewares Design Awards, the First Look trend presentation and seminar, and Best of the West, which spotlights some of the best designers on the West Coast, according to show host International Market Centers.
First Look will highlight four central design themes, Arctic, Desertscape, Adorn and Fiesta in a presentation that includes a curated display and an at-market resource guide, as well as the educational seminar, which runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, January 28, at the Las Vegas World Market Center.
The Best of the West program, running from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on January 28 features Wendy Blackband of Blackband Design, Laura Umansky of Laura U Interior Design, Lindsey Borchard of Lindsey Brooke Design, Amy Bartlam of Amy Bartlam Photography and Lexi Westergard of Lexi Westergard Design.
Also on January 28, a Meet the Makers luncheon presentation will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. featuring Diane Sulg of Craft, Carlos Arias, founder of Inspired Peru, along with others yet to be announced discussing trends in the maker movement.
Other trend-focused sessions, include: A Roundtable Discussion of All Things Tabletop from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, and Pantone Presents: 2019 Color of the Year, with Laurie Pressman, vp/Pantone Color Institute, from 11 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, January 29.
The winter market will offer an exclusive slate of networking receptions and industry award events such as the Las Vegas Market Design Icon Award, the Housewares Design Awards and the Non-Profit Retail Networking Reception. Other special events include the return of a late-night Cash & Carry Shopping Spree from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on January 28 in the temporary exhibition space in Pavilion 2.
