Libbey’s board of directors has nominated Eileen Mallesch for election to the board. Mallesch’s seat on the board would replace independent director Peter Howell, who has served as a director of the company since 1993 and is retiring.
According to Libbey, Mallesch is a certified public accountant with more than 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, accounting, enterprise risk management and financial management. Her prior experience includes leadership positions at divisions of Nationwide and General Electric and as CFO, Genworth Financial. She currently sits on the boards of both State Auto Financial and Bob Evans Farms.
“We would like to thank Peter for his dedicated service to Libbey for the past 23 years and wish him well in his retirement,” said Libbey chairman and CEO, William Foley.
Foley added, “Mallesch brings excellent financial acumen and enterprise risk management expertise and has significant public company and corporate governance experience in a variety of industries, including both industrial and consumer businesses. Combined with her international business experience, we believe Eileen represents an excellent complement to our board’s diverse background and skill set, and we look forward to her contributions.”
