Robert Libman and the Libman family of the Libman Company were recently recognized by The Parkland College Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America for their leadership, entrepreneurial spirit and community service.
In May, the Libman family received the V. Dale Cozad 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year Award during the Parkland College ninth annual Entrepreneur of the Year Banquet held on May 8 at the I Hotel and Conference Center in Champaign, IL. The Parkland College Foundation awards the V. Dale Cozad Entrepreneur of the Year annually to an individual who “demonstrates the best traits of entrepreneurship including being a leader, a self-starter, willingness to take risks, drive perseverance, discipline, confidence, a strong worth ethic and passion.”
Award recipients are celebrated annually in partnership with the founding members of the Parkland College Entrepreneurial Program, the result of a partnership between the college and community members committed to developing strong, educated leaders for today’s workforce. The entire Robert Libman family accepted the award together.
On September 5, Robert and Sondra Libman were honored by The Prairielands Council, Boy Scouts of America with its Distinguished Citizens Award at the Champaign Country Club in Champaign, IL.
The Distinguished Citizen Award was established in 2015 to honor impactful community leaders and is presented annually and “honors community leaders who have exhibited through his/her personal and professional life the attributes of Scouting including good character, leadership, active citizenship and service to others.”
The Prairielands Council honored Sondra’s “unparalleled generosity and dedication to youth and education” and Robert’s “commitment to family, community and entrepreneurship which exemplifies the ideals and values of the Boy Scouts of America.”
