After opening its first stores in the U.S. earlier this month, Lidl will debut four more locations on July 13. The supermarket retailer will also establish a regional headquarters and distribution center in Cartersville, GA.
The second wave of Lidl locations will open on July 13, about a month since the first group of 10 stores debuted. The new Lidl locations are in Chesapeake and Culpeper, VA, and Havelock and Wake Forest, NC. As part of the grand opening celebrations, the first 100 customers arriving at each location will receive a wooden coin for a chance to win up to $100 in Lidl gift cards. Shoppers attending the opening will be able to sample an array of products and will receive a complimentary reusable bag while supplies last. Throughout grand opening weekend, the stores will offer shoppers games, activities, prizes, special deals and giveaways.
On the distribution side, Lidl maintained that the $100 million regional headquarters and distribution center would create 250 jobs over the next five years.
“We are excited to announce new growth and investment in our U.S. expansion,” said Brendan Proctor, Lidl U.S. president and CEO. “Our Cartersville facility will help us efficiently deliver top quality goods to our future customers throughout the area.”
