Ace Hardware Corp. announced it has named John Venhuizen president and CEO. The company noted that Venhuizen’s appointment has been part of a strategic leadership transition that it announced last September when Venhuizen was named president and COO while Ace’s outgoing leader, Ray Griffith, maintained the title of CEO.
Venhuizen brings 20 years of experience at Ace to his new role, the company noted, a period during which he also served as vp/business development, retail development, retail training and international.
Ace recently unveiled “2020 Vision,” a strategic concept driven by Venhuizen, the company stated, adding that Ace intends to establish a long-term customer-focused strategy designed to grow the retail brand and help operators under its banner improve their stores’ performance.
“John has already made an indelible imprint on Ace Hardware and he will continue to do so at the helm of this great organization,” said David Ziegler, chairman, Ace Hardware board of directors. “We are pleased with the momentum of the business, particularly with the launch of 2020 Vision. Ace’s board of directors is confident that Ace will grow and prosper under John’s passionate leadership.”
