Tomorrow, Walgreens will conduct the official opening of its newest flagship store, located at School and Washington streets in Boston. The company designed the store to include an extensive collection of innovative offerings, products and services unexpected from a drugstore, among them, a LOOK Boutique department that serves as the core of a beauty operation including expanded assortments of everything from cosmetics to electric tools such as curling irons.
In announcing the move, Walgreens also stated that the flagship store would include expanded pharmacy and food operations. Typically, Walgreens flagship stores also include a wider variety of home furnishings and housewares in featured departments.
“Walgreens is thrilled to provide a flagship location, unlike any traditional drugstore, in the thriving and resilient Downtown Crossing neighborhood,” said Mark Wagner, Walgreens president of operations and community management. “We are transforming into a retail health and daily living destination that offers our customers unique and exceptional experiences to help them get, stay and live well.”
