Lodge Cast Iron has acquired Portland-based cast iron cookware manufacturer, Finex.
The business will continue to operate out of Portland and Finex employees will join the Lodge team. The Finex brand will stand alone with its own social media platforms, website, and promotional materials, company officials said.
“This merging of like-minded American cast iron companies is an exciting opportunity for the future of USA-made cast iron cookware,” said Mike Otterman, president and CEO of Lodge. “The decision falls in line with our mission to build shareholder equity and keep the Lodge business thriving while staying true to our values and our small company roots. Lodge values made-in-America manufacturing and wants to continue to be the leader in cast iron cookware.”
Otterman said that the remainder of 2019 will be spent with Lodge managing the transition of Finex cast iron production to its Tennessee foundries.
