Lowe’s Grants Go To College Fund, Community Nonprofit

Lowe’s has given a $500,000 grant to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to assist students attending publicly-supported historically black colleges and universities. This grant will assist graduating seniors in need of financial support to complete their final course requirements at the college fund’s 47 member-schools. For the past four years, Lowe’s has partnered with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund to fund scholarships for more than 140 students.

In addition, this week, Lowe’s awarded Keep America Beautiful (KAB), a national nonprofit that builds and sustains communities, a $1 million Lowe’s Community Partners grant. The donation will support more than 60 local community service projects and KAB’s Great American Cleanup, a community improvement program. This is Lowe’s third $1 million contribution to KAB to engage volunteers to take action to benefit local communities across the country.
