Marquette Castings, which is based in Royal Oak, MI, is looking to bring U.S.-made cast iron cookware to the market.
The company recently also partnered with RLM Industries to replace its current Dutch oven offerings that are imported from China, according to news website Crain’s Detroit Business.
According to co-founder and CEO of Marquette Castings, Eric Steckling, the company’s manufacturing process is said to create original cast iron pans in terms of weight and the smoothness of the cooking surface. The company uses ceramic molds framed in a wax pattern to make its cast iron cookware, which differs from the traditional sand mold technique.
Marquette Castings is filling pre-orders through online campaigns and plans fully enter the cookware market this summer.
