Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie, Bi-Lo, Harveys and Fresco y Mas supermarkets, has announced that president and CEO Ian McLeod has resigned to take up another, unidentified opportunity.
Anthony Hucker, the company’s chief operating officer, will assume the responsibilities of president and CEO on an interim basis, assuming his responsibilities effective July 1 when McLeod formally steps down.
The company noted that Hucker brings extensive knowledge of the retail grocery sector, spending more than 18 years in leadership roles across the industry in the U.S. Prior to joining Southeastern Grocers, he was president and COO of Schnucks, president of Giant Food and head of Walmart’s strategy and business development division. In addition, he spent 10 years as part of the original start up team with Aldi UK.
