Meco Rebranding Grills, Smokers Under Americana Label

To emphasize its Made in the U.S.A. manufacture, Meco is consolidating its grill business under a single brand: Americana.

Meco has been making charcoal and electric barbecue grills in its East Tennessee factory since 1971. Today, it manufactures more than 500,000 grills annually in the U.S. Consumers can find Meco’s grills online and through major retailers under the Aussie, One Fire, Easy-Street, Americana and Southern Country Smoker brands. All Meco grills and smokers will begin adopting the Americana brand on May 1.

Whitney Winter, Meco’s marketing director, noted, “We’re solidifying our barbecue grill brands to Americana to better communicate the nature of our product and better reflect Meco’s business goals and objectives.”

Meco’s founders established the business in 1959 to create employment in their job-scarce community, the company pointed out. Almost 60 years later, the company continues to support its founder’s intentions to create American manufacturing jobs.

“We’re very excited about this brand change and all of the online and social media initiatives we’re working on for 2018 and 2019,” Winter said. “Most of all, we really appreciate our retail partners like Home Depot, Walmart, Academy Sports, Fred Meyer, Kroger and others for supporting Meco and other American manufacturers to create a sustainable U.S. economy.”

Meco manufactures grills, smokers and folding furniture including Stakmore-branded products.
