Meijer has opened a new supercenter in Detroit, continuing its investment in the Motor City. The company located the almost 200,000-square-foot store near the Old Redford and Brightmoor neighborhoods on the city’s Northwest side.
Built on the site of the former Redford High School, the Meijer supercenter is the latest of 11 new stores the retailer plans to open in the Midwest this year, the company said.
“We always work hard to find locations that will best serve communities,” said Doug Meijer co-chairman. “We’re very excited to offer a one-stop shopping experience and do our part in helping this neighborhood continue to grow and thrive.”
