West Elm will open its first Wisconsin store in Milwaukee tomorrow. The Williams-Sonoma-operated home furnishings specialist division will conduct operations in the city’s historic Third Ward.
The 11,000-square-foot store debuts with West Elm’s summer product assortment and a suite of complementary design services, West Elm noted.
Given the West Elm target audience of younger and hipper consumers, the company will offer crafted goods from five Wisconsin-based local artists and makers, an effort that is part of West Elm’s local initiative. As part of the grand opening, West Elm has partnered with Wisconsin-based artist, Be Timeless, who designed an exclusive tote bag that the first 300 shoppers with a $50 minimum purchase will receive free.
“We are excited to be opening our first store in Wisconsin,” said West Elm president Jim Brett. “Milwaukee’s cultural energy and creative community align with who we are as a brand. We’re proud to be a member of this flourishing community and support its artisans and makers.”
