The Internet of Things is tapping into the barware category. A new product, the MixStik, is a connected cocktail-making aid that sits in a glass or shaker and lights up to different levels and with different colors to show users exactly how much to add of different ingredients, according to a report on Wired.com.
A companion app lets users choose from a range of drink recipes to create, and guides users through the mixing process.
The LED-encrusted stick is rechargeable, and the end has been designed to double as a muddler, the company said. Up to five MixStiks can be connected to the app at a time so users can make multiple cocktails at once.
The smart barware product was recently on display at an overseas tradeshow and is not yet on sale. According to the report, the product will be available on Kickstarter soon.
