Monmade Partners With Pittsburgh Glass Center, Stak Ceramics

Monmade, a trade group of designers and small-batch manufacturers, has partnered with the Pittsburgh Glass Center and Stak Ceramics. The group will launch new glass tableware and ceramic housewares at the winter NY Now market, scheduled to be held February 2 to 5 in New York City.

Established in 2013, Stak Ceramics is a union of creatives Myles Geyman and Heather Connolly. The company creates what is said are minimal and elegant ceramic housewares, including planter phone docks, phone amps, and kitchen utensil and tablet docks.

“We built our brand of small-batch manufactured home goods with an iconic set of products, so launching such a fresh vision is thrilling,” said Connelly.

The PGC’s Penn & Fairmount collection offers glass tableware with a sleek, modern sensibility, including pitchers, vases and cups, said the company. The work is designed by Jason Forck, and handmade using Venetian techniques by artisans at the Pittsburgh Glass Center.

“For our new line of glassware, we’ve tapped into growing trends,” said Forck. “Our new work complements sophisticated cocktail culture, and offers ideal tools for those that take drinking seriously.”
