Neato Unveils Botvac Connected Robot Vacuum

Neato Robotics has introduced the Botvac Connected robot vacuum, a Wi-Fi enabled model that works in conjunction with the company’s new Neato mobile app.

Neato stated that the new Botvac Connected runs on a lithium ion battery and has added several enhanced features that the company suggested will maximize its ability to pick up debris. In addition, the robotic vacuum can be operated via a consumer’s Apple or Android smartphone from anywhere there is a Wi-Fi connection.

“As you look at how connectivity has changed our lives, it makes a lot of sense for us to have one of our robotic vacuum cleaners that is connected within the household,” Allen Hollingshead, vp/sales, Neato, told HOMEWORLD BUSINESS. “Having the ability to program and monitor it via a mobile device is just so second nature today.”

When paired with the Botvac Connected, a consumer can use the app to remotely direct the vacuum’s navigation path, stop or pause the robot, set up a cleaning schedule, as well as several other functions.

According to Neato, the Botvac Connected has two new cleaning modes. Eco Mode provides an energy-saving clean while Turbo Mode is designed to deliver a more powerful cleaning.

The Botvac Connected has an SRP of $699 and will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
