Neato has updated its app, which is capable of controlling the company’s new Wi-Fi enabled Botvac Connected robotic vacuum.
The automatic upgrade, the company said, now offers users the ability to connect to Botvac Connected through smartwatches, bringing new functionality to Neato’s smart robotic vacuum. According to the company, users can start, stop and receive notifications about a cleaning session on an Apple or Android smartwatch.
“Neato has a strong belief that robots can take over household chores, giving people more time to do other things. We already make it easy for people to schedule automatic cleaning right on the robot, letting it do the cleaning whether they are at home or not. We took it a step further with Botvac Connected, giving people the ability to schedule, start, stop, pause and monitor their cleaning right from their smart phone, no matter where they are in the world,” said Nancy Nunziati, Neato’s vp/marketing.
She added, “Now we’re taking that convenience a step further, giving people the option of tapping the smartwatch on their wrist to manage their home cleaning as easily as checking the time. We’re happy to be the first to add this new task to the list.”
