Gaia Group USA, a new dinnerware company led by former Sears executive Marie McGrath-Brown, is making its debut at the International Home + Housewares Show.
The company’s goal is to bring retailers “the best of the earth” with dinnerware notable for its organic shapes and colors, designs and finishes inspired by nature and patterns from around the world.
At the Housewares Show, Gaia Group, under the brand Gaia Tablescapes, is debuting five main collections.
Bella Terra features an organic farm-to-table aesthetic with an intentionally unfinished look and soft color palette in stoneware. Metallic Elements features an “unexpected earthy metallic bling” such as aged or distressed brass, copper and iron, to offer a trendy urban feel. Geo mixes it up with a lively, fun collection of unexpected mix-and-match geometric patterns that have global design inspiration. Classic White is a whiteware collection.
Gaia Group will also introduce a licensed line of melamine children’s dinnerware as well as platters and appetizer plates for adults called World of Mary Blair. With her signature vibrant color combinations and bold, simple shapes, Blair is best known for her work as the designer of the Disneyland attraction “It’s A Small World” and for her creative impact on the classic Disney movies Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Cinderella.
