Representatives from several e-commerce brands are set to network with a diverse range of home improvement suppliers at the third annual Home Improvement eRetailer Summit, set for November 7-9 at the Hotel Monaco, here.
The Home Improvement eRetailer Summit is designed to connect e-commerce platforms and suppliers, serving up best practices to optimize online home improvement programs at a time when e-commerce progress by the home improvement industry still lags behind other key consumer products industries, according to summit organizers.
The program covers a wide range of home improvement categories including hardware and tools, outdoor living, lawn and garden, home décor, flooring, housewares, home environment and smart home.

The 2019 Home Improvement eRetailer Summit is backed by a new tagline: “eCommerce Intelligence and Insights.”

This year’s summit is set to welcome merchants from several e-retailers, including eBay, The Grommet, Sears, Kmart, True Value, Groupon Goods, Firefly Buys, and SustainableSupply.com. True Value and Groupon Goods are planning to send entire-commerce buying departments, according to summit organizers.

The 2018 Home Improvement eRetailer Summit will present speakers and panelists representing a broad range of disciplines, including progressive e-retailers, retail influencers in the media world and top researchers.
The agenda was shaped by the summit’s advisory council whose members come from such leading e-commerce practitioners as SustainableSupply.com, SupplyHog.com, Organizeit.com, HSN.net, Sears.com and Kmart.com, and Table + Dine, a lifestyle-focused creative studio for household brands.
The opening keynote on November 8 is set to be delivered by Steven Dennis, president of SageBerry Consulting. Dennis will explain how savvy e-retailers are redefining their brands in a digital era, citing his new book, “A Really Bad Time to be Boring: Reinventing Retail in the Age of Amazon.”
Another day-one keynote is on tap from Ryan DeChance, director of discovery for online retailer The Grommet. DeChance will reveal how to identify highly marketable, innovative products while celebrating and supporting the growing maker movement.
“This year’s agenda is designed to speak specifically to the home improvement e-commerce marketplace and how this category can compete on all levels— whether it’s pure-play online, omnichannel, brick and mortar, fulfillment or the best technology platforms.” Ruff Jarvis said.
HomeWorld’s Giannetti is set to moderate a discussion with e-commerce retailers examining the challenges and opportunities of the growing home improvement e-commerce marketplace. Panelists include eBay’s Steele; Brian Franco, founder and CEO of SustainableSupply.com; and Scott Benedict, DMM for Groupon Goods.
The summit will showcase several other speakers:
- Laura Heller, a retail reporter and influencer, will delve into the latest news and trends on the eCommerce front.
- Joe Derochowski, home industry analyst for market research and insights firm The NPD Group, will emphasize the importance of tapping into demographic data and trends to constantly reach new customers.
- Sue Welch, technology leader and founder and CEO of B2B digital marketplace Bamboo Rose, will share her insights on how digital transformation is evolving the global marketplace. The summit is partnering with Bamboo Rose on a virtual showroom— the “eRetailer Summit Private Marketplace”— created and hosted by Bamboo Rose during and for 90 days following the summit.
- Deborah Shearer, founder and CEO of Table + Dine, will moderate an influencer panel featuring The Grommet’s DeChance.
- Julianne Will, an editor and social media consultant, will present key takeaways from the summit.
