This week’s National Hardware Show promoted the upcoming debut of the “Independent Home Improvement Show— Powered By NHS.”
The new show (IHIS), set to be co-located with the Independent Garden Center Show August 13 to 15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, will feature a dedicated exhibit floor showcasing a broad range of categories— including hardware, homewares, barbecue and tailgate— positioned specifically for independent retailers.
“Many independent home improvement and hardware retail businesses include garden departments, and we have long recognized the IGC Show for its leadership as America’s biggest and best garden center event,” said Rich Russo, vp/National Hardware Show. “Additionally, both retailer audiences potentially sell various home improvement and houseware items from the vendors we will bring. It’s a perfect fit.”
IHIS attendees will have full access to all amenities offered by the IGC Show, including free admission to the trade show, keynote presentations and a scheduled concert by rock music legends Starship.
Jeff Morey, IGC show founder and CEO, said the IGC Show’s alliance with the Independent Home Improvement Show opens new opportunities for associated independent retail channels.
“Independent hardware stores are so closely aligned to independent garden centers,” Morey said. “Each is positioned to benefit from the other’s unique experiences and perspectives as independent retailers.”
