Nordic Ware Recognized For Sustainable Manufacturing

Nordic Ware has been recognized with a 2015 Manufacturing Award in Sustainability by Minnesota Business Magazine. The St. Louis Park-based kitchenware manufacturer is a privately held company and is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2016.

“Nordic Ware is committed to using sustainable manufacturing methods in producing its products,” said David Dalquist, CEO and president of Nordic Ware. “Recycling materials, limiting waste streams and reducing our energy consumption make us more competitive while also minimizing our environmental footprint.”

The magazine collected nominations over a two-month period and all nominations were reviewed by an external judging panel that consisted of industry experts across professional platforms. According to the Department of Employment and Economic Development, manufacturing provides more than 292,000 jobs and contributes $37 billion to the state’s economy.

We believe that our American-made products offer customers a better value and last longer in part because Nordic Ware places great emphasis on quality assurance, which we are better able to control manufacturing here in the U.S. We also believe that the infrastructure in our country assures the environmental impact of manufacturing is significantly less here than overseas. Nordic Ware’s staff dedicates considerable efforts towards being a sustainable producer and is honored to be recognized for its achievements in green manufacturing,” added Dalquist.
