On August 19, Nordstrom will kick off its Anniversary Sale online and in stores, initiating the company’s biggest and most popular shopping event of the year.
Nordstrom moved Anniversary Sale event dates from July to August this year to better position the promotion in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Nordstrom stated that it is increasing cleaning and safety measures throughout the company, implementing daily employee health checks, and limiting the number of people in stores among other practices designed to combat potential spread of the virus.
The Anniversary Sale will feature brand-new arrivals on sale until prices go back up on August 31, with discounts on more than 10,000 items in apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty, active and home segments. Nordy Club cardmembers get early access beginning August 13 and some customers can shop even earlier depending on their loyalty status.
In home, the company plans to offer brands such as Anthropologie, The White Co., S’well, Serene House, Smeg, Rachel Parcell and Deny Designs as well as Nordstrom Made brands Treasure & Bond, 1901, Tucker + Tate, BP, Halogen, Zella and Nordstrom Home.
“While shopping may look a little different right now, one thing that isn’t changing is our commitment to making this year’s Anniversary Sale a great event for our customers,” said Pete Nordstrom, the company’s president and chief brand officer. “Anniversary Sale is a one-of-a-kind event, featuring new product offerings at limited time savings. We have worked to ensure selection, safety, accessibility and convenience however customers choose to shop with us.”
