NPD Expands Consumer Research Panel

Marketing information provider The NPD Group announced that its Online Consumer Panel has reached 900,000 members worldwide, anchored by 750,000 U.S. consumers. NPD says its panel is the largest pre-recruited panel tracking consumer purchasing in multiple industries on an ongoing basis. NPD surveys more than 300,000 panelists each week, gathering data on what they purchased, where it was purchased, price paid and more. Information is reported monthly, enabling subscribers to benchmark their performance against competitors, monitor distribution channels, and understand and anticipate market trends. Using the new, expanded panel, NPD has begun collecting consumer purchase information on housewares, consumer electronics, information technology and pre-recorded music.
