As the consumer shift to casual dining continues, NTL (New ThermoServ, Ltd.) is introducing several new dinnerware and serveware pieces that speak to this trend, at the International Home + Housewares Show.
“Last year we launched in total over 500 new SKUs, and this year we’re not slowing down with an additional 150 SKUs adding to the mix of our casual dining brands,” said Dana Dowdy, vp/marketing, ThermoServ.
One of the biggest launches for NTL will be the introduction of its latest brand, Versaware microwavable dinnerware. NTL said it is similar in weight and durability to melamine, but can be heated.
“This is a truly game changing line of dinnerware unlike anything else on the market currently. The material, Micropure, is a proprietary formulation developed by NTL and is similar in look and feel to melamine, with the same ultra-durability and dishwasher safe benefits. However, unlike melamine which is not meant to be heated, this material is entirely microwave and oven safe. It’s truly a new way to get the look and feel of stoneware or ceramic, along with the versatility of use for heating, but with all the break resistant properties of melamine,” said Dowdy.
The Versaware collection is also freezer and conventional oven safe, up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. She also said the Versaware collection will be priced in line with the company’s premium melamine collections, which makes it a comfortable pricepoint as well.
