Three Accent on Design exhibitors received “Bloggers’ Choice Awards” for exemplary product design at the summer 2014 edition of NY Now, the show announced today. Accent on Design, which is presented semi-annually as part of NY Now’s Home Collection, offers resources for design-led merchandise, presenting a dynamic, juried collection of contemporary and innovative product lines from 150+ exhibitors across all categories, the company said.
The winners are:
Stone Candle Scone by Fort Standard (Brooklyn, NY) nominated by Marisa Marcantonio from Stylebeat blog. The Stone Candle Scone illuminates while adding sculptural allure, the company said. A removable candlestick insert turns the back into a candlestick giving the piece dual functionality.
Islands and Coasts Quilts by Haptic Lab (Brooklyn, NY) nominated by Sevan Gatsby of Design-Calendar for its tactile, intricate and whimsical design, the company said.
Jack Headphone Stand by ModProducts (New York, NY) nominated by Nancy Lazarus of UnBeige for its storge and recharging spot for headphones and small mobile devices. Made of polypropylene and rubber, the stand is available in orange, yellow, white or gray.
“Bloggers in the design space are intuitive and forward-thinking in the same way as Accent on Design exhibitors,” Christian Falkenberg, NY Now director and senior vice president said. “Tapping into their intuition and style-centered tastes has helped us identify several stand-out designs showcased at the summer market.”
