NYIGF’s Handmade Features Global Artisans

Retailers attending the winter 2010 New York International Gift Fair’s Handmade section will witness nearly 40 new craftspeople, from seven countries and 16 states. Handmade features 575 designer-makers and production craft representatives.
Sixty percent of the winter 2010 newcomers are accessory-driven, including high-quality jewelry, hand bags, scarves and other wearable textiles.
NYIGF director Dorothy Belshaw said, “This increase mirrors the economy-driven demand for affordably indulgent products, with noticeable trends including a return to larger, more colofrul statement pieces.”
