Office Depot Wins Social Media Marketing Award For Anti-Bullying Campaign

Office Depot, Inc. has announced that its “#Together Against Bullying” collaboration with the band One Direction won an Internet Advertising Competition Award for Best Retail Social Media Campaign. The Web Marketing Association award recognized Office Depot’s innovative digital campaign that ran in the Back-to-School marketing period, the retailer stated.

The IAC Awards developed by Web Marketing Association honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible and showcase the best in award-winning Internet advertising, Office Depot noted. Organizations of all sizes across 86 industries submitted nominations to this year’s competition. The recognition represents Office Depot’s first IAC Award, the retailer pointed out.

“We’re proud to be recognized as best-in-class by the IAC, but even more proud of how this program has touched students’ lives,” Tim Rea, executive vp/marketing for Office Depot, said in announcing the win. “Over 160,000 students skip school every day to avoid being bullied, so creating awareness to address the issue is critical.”
