Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is continuing to expand, opening its first store in Florida and planning more.
The company plans to open six to nine stores in the state of Florida and 28 to 32 new stores overall across the eastern half of the United States this year.
Florida is the company’s 18th state of operation. The growth strategy is focused on expanding Ollie’s locations in contiguous states and new markets in the vicinity of current operating geographies, the company said.
The first Florida Ollie’s store, on Colonial Drive in Orlando, promoted its opening with an event that offered the first 250 customers the opportunity to meet NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick.
Mark Butler, Ollie’s chairman, president and CEO, said, “We are excited to open our first store in the great state of Florida and believe Florida will be another strong state for Ollie’s. In line with our overall growth strategy, we plan to continue growing our store base in the mid-teen percentage rate in 2016.”
Ollie’s Bargain Outlet currently operates 208 stores.
