Oxo has launched a new line of microwave cookware that will be available in the fall, the company said. The collection includes a bacon cooker, omelet cooker, egg sandwich maker and steamer.
With a suggested retail price of $19.99, the microwave bacon cooker cooks the bacon on an angle instead of flat, the company noted. It can hold up to six pieces of bacon at one time and the adjustable kickstand is said to allow for crispier bacon. The microwave bacon cooker is constructed of BPA-free materials and is dishwasher safe.
The company’s omelet cooker is designed to make omelets in three minutes or less, according to Oxo. Made of BPA-free silicone, the cooker is open-faced as opposed to folded, which ensures an even folded omelet. But it also folds and locks closed for steaming veggies before adding the eggs.
The egg sandwich maker, which has a suggested retail price of $7.99, has a curved bottom which was designed to help center yolk for fried eggs. Additionally, the base is removable for transfer directly to bread or plate. The wide opening allows for whisking directly in the cooker. It is also dishwasher safe.
According to Oxo, the steamer is the first microwave steamer with a lid that opens from the middle with a push of the outside handles to keep hands and face away from hot steam. Other features include an optional sunburst ventilation at top based on what is in the steamer basket. An inner basket also has accessible handles that keep hands safe. The 2.25-quart steamer is also BPA-free and dishwasher safe.
