HIGH POINT, NC— One area of focus for Powell Home Fashions at the upcoming Fall High Point Market is headboards, which the company is rolling out in a variety of looks.
Powell has been a producer of bedroom furniture, but over the past couple of home furnishings markets, the company has focused on juvenile products. Recent introductions included loft beds, mounting desks and buggy beds, built in imitation of off-road cars.
However, the company now is revisiting adult products with its range of headboards that use currently popular embellishments to ensure the products remain consistent with trends.
The particular spin Powell has taken on headboards followed a fabric thread, as the eight headboards all are upholstered. The introductions come in four designs and two fabric options. The also come in two sizes, as each style rolls out in king and queen/full variations.
Powell wanted to provide for consumers who prefer formal sophistication, it stated, rather than the more casual looks typically available in mass-market headboards.
Product features include nail head and button tufting decoration as well as solid wood frames. Upholstery is 100% polyester, and the headboards sport solid wood finished tapered feet.
Powell developed the headboard line with affordability in mind. Suggested retail pricing will be from $239 for a full/queen to $259 for a king headboard. The company also will offer upholstered footboard and rails.
Other Powell plans for High Point include introduction of chests, accents and dining under the company’s Bombay license, the company related.
In all, Powell pointed out, new accent pieces will total more than 100 with SRPs in the $79 to $499 range. Dining additions to the Powell line, as envisioned for High Point, total 15 sets that will come in at retails from $ 379 to $899 retail.
Certainly, Powell will press the momentum on juvenile bedding. The company maintained that it will roll out 12 introductions of juvenile bed in a box, including headboard, dresser, mirror and nightstand. As advertised, all the new complete bed sets, in full and twin options, will ship in one box with SRPs ranging from $499 to $899.
