Publix has begun a pilot service with partner Instacart that provides a delivery option to consumers in select areas of Miami.
Instacart, an e-commerce and delivery service, takes customer orders online and delivers selected products to customer doorsteps. Product categories subject to delivery include household, with segments ranging from fitness to plates, bowls, cups and flatware to food storage to air fresheners and candles. The personal care category offers segments ranging from facial care to oral hygiene to aromatherapy.
Instacart will deliver Publix merchandise in 37 Miami zip codes from Hallandale Beach to South Miami. Customers can enter a zip code on the Instacart website to find out if the delivery service is available where they live.
Publix will work to better understand the opportunities this service affords customers and associates by starting with a pilot and evaluating the results before expanding the program.
“We know this service is something our customers are interested in, and we’re excited to learn more as we move forward with this pilot,” said Kevin Murphy, Publix svp/retail operations. “We chose Instacart because we believe the experience they provide aligns well with the needs of our company, associates and customers.”
