Publix Recommends Against Attending Shareholders Meeting

To protect the safety of associates and stockholders through the duration of the coronavirus outbreak, Publix has determined to substantially condense its annual shareholders meeting scheduled for April 14.

As it seeks to comply with Centers for Disease Control guidelines, the supermarket has recommended against shareholder attending this year’s meeting, which it anticipates will last less than 10 minutes and will not include speeches, award presentations or the opportunity to ask questions.

Publix has asked any eligible stockholder who might consider attending the meeting to be mindful of the CDC’s guidelines regarding travel and public gatherings. The potential participant should monitor the CDC or Florida Department of Health websites for updates since the coronavirus situation and responses to it are changing rapidly, the company noted.
