Reduce Expands Water Filtration Assortment

Base Brands has expanded its water filtration assortment with a new Reduce Water Filters 4-Pack, which launched at Bed, Bath & Beyond stores in mid-August. The filters are compatible with Reduce, Brita, PUR and other branded water filtration pitchers, the company noted. The filter replacement pack also offers quality at a more affordable price versus the leading competitor, according to Base Brands.

Reduce water filters use a four-step process that is said to retain the taste of fresh water while reducing contaminants such as lead, cadmium, chlorine, copper, mercury, aluminum, pesticides and unpleasant odors. In step one, micro netting traps sediments and large particles. In step two, ion-exchanging resin reduces harmful substances. In step three, coconut-activated carbon reduces chlorine taste and odor. In step four, micro netting at the base provides final filtration.

The new water filters are BPA-free, with a filtration system that has been tested and certified by the Water Quality Association against NSF/ANSI Standard No. 53 (health effects for the reduction of cadmium and copper) and NSF/ANSI Standard No. 42 (aesthetic effects for the reduction of chlorine taste and odor). The filters are said to last up to 40 gallons or 60 days. The new 4-pack is priced at $14.99 on Bed Bath & Beyond’s website, which also labels it as an exclusive.

The Reduce line also includes a water filtration pitcher in stainless steel, with a suggested retail price of $44.99, and Reduce replacement filters in single, 3-pack and 6-pack configurations, with suggested prices ranging from $5.99 to $27.99.
