According to a report from TechCrunch, Amazon.com has entered discussions with Evine Live about buying the multi-channel television home shopping retailer.
Evine, a video-oriented multichannel retailer that broadcasts over cable and satellite television, has been active over the past year building a portfolio of exclusive brands including in the home segment. Home brands on Evine have included Sweet Home Savannah with chef Paula Deen and Donny Osmond Home programs.
Amazon offers the Evine app in its app store, which works with the company’s Fire TV Voice Remote. Amazon has been venturing in a wide range of media both as a content developer and producer and as a retailer.
Contacted by HomeWorld Business, Evine and Amazon both declined comment on the acquisition report.
