Report: Amazon Eyes Expansion Of Whole Foods

Amazon is reportedly eyeing the expansion of Whole Foods as part of an effort to put more customers within range of its two-hour delivery service.

First reported by the Wall St. Journal, the plan is to add stores in suburban areas. The report noted that Whole Foods employees have visited possible new store locations in Idaho, Utah and Wyoming, areas where the upscale supermarket chain currently does not have stores.

The Journal reported that Amazon is looking to expand its two-hour delivery service, Prime Now, to most if not all of its 475 Whole Foods locations in the U.S.
